ITALY: THANKS TO ALL PUPILS!!!

Hi everybody,

this heart is for thanking all the pupils involved in our amazing project. You know, Italian pupils are now engaged in their final examination. Tomorrow is the day of maths!!! They have three hours to solve four questions about the whole program, from statistics and probability to geometry and algebra. They enjoyed a lot this project. So, this is to tell you THANKS! I am also so grateful to Carole for her contagious enthusiasm!

FRANCE : Our Pi Charts

Here are our Pi charts created using Geogebra.
All rectangles have the same width.
Each rectangle is coloured in fonction of the pi digit it represents
(height of each rectangle = value of the corresponding pi digit).

FRANCE : Bonus activities

FRANCE : Bonus activity "Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi"

Today, the French pupils began to read the story "Sir Cumference and the dragon of pi", a math adventure by Cindy Neuschwander.

We finished to write our questions for the quiz.
Today the French pupils built a common list of words linked to our project.
Then they created some word clouds using the Tagxedo application.

FRANCE : About our pi quiz

Today we also continued to work on the questions of our Pi quizzes.

We worked by groups and we tried to write a series of questions from some texts about Pi that we studied with our teachers.

Each group has to prepare 5 questions about the texts, so each country proposes a series of  20 questions, with 3 possible answers for each question (with only one right answer among the 3)

Our teachers will regroup both series of questions and choose only 30 questions among all.

Then we will create 2 common quizzes.

Today, the french students discovered the prizes sent by their italian partners.
The prizes were given to the pupils by our headmaster, Mrs Blanchard.

What difficult task!!! Anyway we tried to continue your sentences in Pilish. So, forget the English grammar and think about poems... This is the only way to understand what we wrote!!! Look at the padlets. Bye!

Today we mailed a parcel to our Italian partners, with rewards for the winners of our drawing contest.

FRANCE : We started to work on our Pilish creations

FRANCE : Our diplomas for our italian partners

Today we prepared diplomas for the italian students who won the drawing contest.
Next week they will receive a parcel with the diplomas and some presents.

Activity 4 : Our Pilish creations

Each group has to create a text in Pilish (the length of words in a sentence is determined by pi's digits), eventually "piems" (poems in pilish), for instance about math topics.
The French students are going to start to create a first sentence, and then the italian partners of their respective groups will continue and create a second sentence.
Teachers created a padlet per group in order to publish their students productions.
Once the creations are done, pupils will have to illustrate them.
All works will be grouped in 2 ebooks (one per country) by the teachers.

For activities 4 and 5, some transnational groups are built with pupils from both countries.
